Where Are They Now?

Sam and Michelle Bayly

What motivated you to plant your church in the city that you are in?

Love this city and felt a call to move here, even before we heard the call to plant a church

What do you love about your church and community?

Love the people here in Tauranga, their awesome hearts for Jesus, semi-relaxed lifestyle. Love their willingness to take risks to advance the kingdom.

What has been one of your greatest moments since planting your church?

Our first birthday and seeing the lives that had been impacted in the first 12 months.

What has been one of the toughest moments you’ve experienced in ministry?

Navigating challenging people dynamics

What is the biggest change you’ve seen in yourself or your church since planting?

In myself… the stretch of needing to learn multiple areas very quickly. The churches awesome adaptability to changes as they take place, especailly in the first few years

What do you want to share with someone thinking about becoming a church planter?

Confirm God’s calling/. Then get the green light from God, other leaders, friends and those who know you the best. Next weight up the cost. Then go ALL IN 100% and lay everything on the line. You can’t do it half hearted.
It will be an emotional rollercoaster, and still will be from time to time, but its so worth the adventure.

How has being a part of ARC impacted your life + ministry?

Love the culture and spirit of ARC. Knowing there are people we can draw on and relationships to nurture is so awesome.
